Bellin Grant

The Bellin Grant was established by CLAS in 2003 in memory of Dr. Kathy Bellin, a past president of CLAS and long-time member of the Young Adult Literature Conference (now Teen Literature Conference) planning committee.

The Bellin Memorial Grant covers student conference registration fees and lunch at the annual Young Adult Literature Conference scheduled annually in April (8:00-4:00) at the Tivoli Conference Center, Auraria Campus, Denver, Colorado. The 2009 conference will be on Saturday, April 4.

ELIGIBILITY: Students in grades 6-12 and teens who are home-schooled are eligible to apply. Teens may self-nominate or be nominated by a teacher or librarian.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications must be received by March 6, 2009.

To apply for a Bellin Grant:

Send completed applications to Marge Erickson Freeburn, 4699 W. 69th Ave., Westminster, CO 80030 or via e-mail. If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of grants available for funding, the grants will be awarded by means of a random drawing. Grant winners will be notified by e-mail or phone prior to the conference.
